Girls with burp cloth

Today, Kendall, Jett, and I (Carey was in San Antonio) went to Mom and Dad's to spend some time with them and go swimming. Cathi and Kailey (sister and niece) went to visit too so we got to see them as well. The kids had a good time swimming and seeing their PaPa and Granny.

After lunch and swimming, Mom, Cathi, and I started a project I thought would be fun. I had seen some cute baby onesies on the internet and wanted to try to make some myself. That's pretty ambitious since I don't sew AT ALL!! But I knew Mom would help. Anyway, there is a few babies being born soon in the family and I thought these would make really cute gifts. We had a great time making them, but, I have to say they were more work than I thought they would be. Mom actually did most of the work. She did all the sewing. And I don't think it was all that hard but trying to sew on knit and having to keep changing out thread made it a lot longer process than I had thought. And then trying to tie the perfect bow. We ended up making 6 onesies, 2 little girl shirts and a couple of burp cloths. I think they turned out pretty cute for beginners. And...we had fun spending the day together!! :)

Kendall & Carey

We just got home from our annual Beach Camping Trip to Port Aransas. We packed the RV on Monday morning with it seems like everything we own. We took the jet skis, bikes, wagon and enough food to last a lot longer than we stayed. Rick is always telling me that I take way too much. But you never know what you might get hungry for. The kids had a great time playing in the sand, surf, and pool. Although, Kendall is not a huge fan of the salt water. She's good for about 3o min. and then is ready for the pool. Carey and Jett however love the beach. Jett even started swimming at the pool without his floaties. Yeah!!! This year my sister, Molly and her family and my brother, Russell and his wife were at Port A the same week. So we also had fun hanging out with them. Rick, Robert, Bobby and Andy had a blast jumping the waves on the jet skis at the beach. Rick, Russell, and Robert went on a deep sea fishing trip and although they didn't have much luck (or any luck) catching anything they had a good time. On Thurs. Rick's sisters, Judy and Kathy came to spend the day with us. The kids always have fun with their Aunts. We are already looking forward to next year at the beach.

Kendall's Dance Recital

Kendall and Daddy
Kendall had her 1st dance recital a few weeks ago. We weren't sure what to expect because she would never show us anything that she had learned and she never wanted to go class. It turned out that she knew the dances very well. We thought she did great and are very proud of her. Here is a link to the YouTube video of her tap dance (she is the 4th from the left in front of the barn door). There is also a clip to Stockdale Watermelon Jubliee Queen Coronation and also the Jubliee Parade. She was the Pre-K representative in both. She had a blast at all them.

San Francisco

I just got back from my annual Sister's Vacation with Connie, Kathy, and Judy (Ricks 3 sisters). For the past couple of years my SIL's and I have gone on vacation together. This year was San Francisco. We had a great time seeing all the sites the city has to offer. We visited Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, Pier 39, Lombard Street (the world's most curvy street), and many others. Other than being a little cool for us (we are used to it being 100 degrees+ in July) the weather was great. It was sunny and 65 degrees everyday we were there and no fog. We did a lot of walking up and down the hills (mostly up I think) and were a little sore but we had a fun time and are looking forward to next years trip.

Anniversary

Picture from our honeymoon in Hawaii!!

Today is mine and Rick's 6th anniversary. It has been an amazing and fun 6 years. I could not have asked for a better husband to me or a father for Carey, Kendall, and Jett.
