March Wrap-up

I think I should start writing monthly and just do a wrap up of the month...since that is pretty much what I'm doing already.

First, Carey and Kendall both got there 9 week report cards this month and both did great. Carey found out she was ranked 4th in her class with a avg. of 100.8. We are very proud of her. And every nine weeks the Kindergarten teachers have a conference with the parents. Kendall's teacher told me Kendall was ready for 1st grade. She is reading and adding, and doing so much more than I think I ever did in Kinder. They can even count to 100 by 10's, 5's, and 2's.

We also went on our 1st camping trip of the year in Bastrop. We had a great time. It was so pretty. We went hiking, bike riding (Kendall learned to ride WITHOUT training wheels while we were there), roasted hamburgers and hot dogs, and took a drive through the piney woods. It was a nice relaxing weekend.

This past weekend Rick decided to jump out of plane. Crazy, I know. But now I want to do it. At least, I think I do. Well see!!! Anyway, he said it was awesome and loved it so much he signed up for another jump.

We also took pictures of the kids in Papaws bluebonnets. I had seen pictures that a photographer took of families on a couch out in the middle of a field so we decided to try it. They came out OK for non-professionals.
Anyway...thats been our month of March. Now its on the April and Easter!!

My "superhero"!!!!
Spiderman "throwing his web and climbing the wall."

Rick & I at Dave Ramsey

This post is about our happenings this past weekend even though it is already Thursday. I like to say that I just been too busy to write lately but the truth is I have not been motivated to write and maybe a little lazy. Anyway, we had a busy weekend. On Saturday Rick and I went to see Dave Ramsey Live and The Total Money Makeover. To tell the truth, I could not see how sitting in a colliseum for 5 hours listening to someone talk about things that we pretty much already do, be fun. But Rick listens to him on the radio and got us tickets. But I was so surprised on how entertained I was. It didn't seem like 5 hours at all. I would even say it was kinda fun.

On another note...Jett loves Spiderman so for his birthday we got him a Spiderman suit. I think I put in on him about 10 times a day. He is so funny that now I think he believes he is Spiderman. He will fly (jump) off of things and if it doesn't go like he wanted he says "me don't have no powers anymore". I have to really watch him so that he doesn't " fly" off anything that is too high. Boys are soooo different than girls.
And on Sunday we went to my parents house to celebrate my Dad's 77th birthday. We had a good time and it is sooo good to see my dad doing so much better.

This past weekend we took a road trip to Houston. We went to my Connie and Delwin's and stayed the weekend. They are the best hosts. The kids have the best time with them and all of Sydney's toys. On Saturday we took the kids to the Childrens Museum and they had a blast. They have so many neat things there and we probably didn't see half of them. After a few hours Jett and Kendall got tired and hungry so we left to go eat and had planned on going to the Galleria but decided with two tired kids that it wouldn't be much fun. So we spent the rest of the day visiting and relaxing. We came on Sunday and we have been hit with some sort of cold crud. We have all had a sore throat plus all the sneezing and coughing. Hopefully we will all be feeling good again soon.

Carey driving home from Floresville!!

I know it has been awhile since I have posted. I have been pretty busy lately. My dad was in the hospital with congestive heart failure. So I was going to SA alot. He is feeling much better know and hopefully on the road to a full recovery.

But I did what to write ("brag") about Carey. She is in UIL journalism and got a 3rd place medal for her writing. Yeah!!! And, she has been recognized with the Advanced/Gifted Education Award, which qualifiys her for educational grants. We are so proud of her. Congratulations Carey!!!

And....she recently got her Drivers permit!!!! YIKES!!! Rick is her Drivers Ed teacher. Thank God. I don't think I have the patience or nerves to teach her. But Rick is great!! He let her drive from Floresville to home on the day she passed and she constantly bugs him to take her driving.

(I still haven't figured out how to put the pics where they should be)

Shooting Practice

Rick showing Kendall how to shoot
Showing Jett...he loves it!!
Pointing at what they did NOT hit. ha

Rick even made me shoot & I actually hit the target!!! Not the bullseye ...but close.

On a totally different note...aren't they sweet when they're not fighting??

And...Carey is going to get her driving permit on Monday!!! I can't believe it. She is growing up way too fast for me.

Birthday Boy

Blowing out his candles in his pancakes on his actual birthday

I am finally getting around to posting pictures of Jett at Chuck E. Cheese on his birthday!!! He has been wanting to go there for so long and was so excited. We went the Saturday after his birthday for a family "party". It was so much fun watching him and Kendall run around playing games. Carey and Rick wouldn't admit but they had fun playing games as well. We had a great time celebrating with Jett on his birthday!!!
